Usually the best time to test is after the first day of your missed period. There are some tests you can take a day or two before your period, but I would wait until you have at least missed one day. Just to be on the safe side.

It depends of the test. If you're taking a HPT you need to wait at least 14 days, (your HCG levels need to be at least 40-50 mIU/ml in order to be detected).

A blood test (made at the doctor's office) can detect your HCG levels when they're much lower, so you'll probably need 3 days after the conception in order to get a + result. Any number above 5 mIU/ml is considered as "pregnant".

But the doctors usually do a blood test after you get a + result on a HPT.

I started getting positives on home pregnancy tests 11 days after ovulation, so 3 days before my period was due. If you want to test early, you need to buy a sensitive test. I have had the best luck with First Response Early Response tests.

with a blood test (3 weeks) in other words that would be 1 week before your period, and with a home pregnancy test(4 weeks)that would be the day of ur missed period, however this mostly worked if ur cycle is every 28 days, dont follow the test that say u can test up to 5 days before ur period is due,if u read the fine print on the box u will see that its bullcrap....good luck! if ur trying to conceive,or if ur already pregnant.

Most tests nowadays can tell within a few days of conception. You don't have to wait till morning either.
