what are some legal options when someone has a judgement against them when they want to purchase a home

Yes it is totally possible.
The problem is that because you have this on your record companies charge you a huge amount to get you a mortgage. It should be more for sure but not out the roof.

It depends on the amount of the judgement and the amount of the mortgage you apply for.
The judgment will be on your credit report. If you cannot pay it and make monthly mortgage and tax payments at the same time, you won't get a loan.

There are lots and we would be happy to recommend 1. There are easy ways to pay less than the full balance owed on the judgment as well.
