My opinion, it is your way of coming to terms with her death.
I copied this from dream moods, you should visit the site. I always go there when I want to interpret a dream.

To see your dead sibling, relative, or friend alive in your dream, indicates that you miss them and are trying to relive your old experiences you had with them. In trying to keep up with the pace of your daily waking life, you dreams may serve as your only outlet in coping and coming to terms with the loss of a loved one.

Cutting straight to the chase, A dream is a work of your imagination, a story you dreamed up years ago doesn't have the same details as you might remember today. When you have an Actual experience with another person you usually remember where you were, what time of day, what you were wearing...so with "visitations from the departed" if you can remember the dream in detail as if it happened last night then it wasn't a figment of your imagination, as your mind would've changed the details over time.

However you may have received a message from the beyond in a way you could easily accept that your grandmother is fine & still with you...and it's ok to move forward without fear.

Yes it is.

After my grandmother died 25 yrs ago, five years later I had a dream of her laughing at the front door of her home as she was joyously inviting me in. It was strange to see her laughing so beautifully since she was depressed and in institutions for most of the years that I ever knew her. In the dream, she even did a distinctive laugh where she grabbed her belly and jiggled her fat. I never saw her DO that ever, but I thought it looked silly.

I told my mother about this strange dream, and she really believed my grandmother was saying she was happy now. You see, when she was a very little girl , my grandmother used to grab the fat of her belly, jiggle it, just to make her laugh. My mother had never before told me that either. I know it sounds really stupid and made up, but it is true.

Without a single doubt in my mind, the answer is yes. Also, check with your living relatives, some will report similar visits, not necessarily with your grandmother. This gift comes through a bloodline, and it is obviously in yours. Don't worry.

Yes, I do. I had a similar dream about a brother that died. It was as though he was right there in the same room with me; he told me that he was Okay and I never saw him after that.
