Never being able to make new ones is much worse. Losing your old memories, you still have pictures and things to tell you what happened. If you can't make new ones, every day you're still back in the past. Every time you look in the mirror you freak out because you're getting old and you don't know why. People die, people get married, babies are born, and you don't remember. You're still the you from twenty years ago. That. That is scary.

Never being able to make new ones. The old ones are already gone. The new yet to be experienced.

Both would be terrible but I would have to pick losing my old ones. They are mostly good (I guess I selectively remember what I want..hehe) and my Dad recently passed away and all I have is the old ones to remember him by. I guess the answer might change when I have kids though becuase I wouldn't be able to remember them at all. That would be sad too.

Not being able of building new ones. That would be not having any perspective of future life.
My personal opinion.
