I attended all 4 years at the University of Central Oklahoma (formerly called Central State University) in Edmond, Oklahoma. i loved it there! Both my son and daughter also attended UCO and loved it! It is the thrid largest state university in Oklahoma. I feel it is a good size school to transfer into from high school. You ar enot a number, but a real person that your professors actually know by name. In fact, I can still go back and they still remember me! I love it!
Here and there I have completed a few classes a junior college, but was not very impressed with what I took. I felt it was more of just a step up from high school courses and not challenging enough. Didn't feel I actually learned what I needed to know to teach.
I received my bachelor's degree in instrumental and vocal music education there. Later I attended OSU Tulsa (formerly UCAT) where I received my masters degree in school counseling. It was a matter of being very convenient to attend there because of the location where I live and work now. I did, however love it there also. Both were good matches for my needs and high quality schools for the degrees I was working to achieve.
I love teaching and counseling at the middle school level which is where I am currently. I have taught everything from kindergarten through high school. Most people do not like middle school age kids, but it seems to fit my liking! You must be very laid back to go through all the things those little guys are going through at the middle school age. Wouldn't want to live through those hard years again, but I love working with them!

I received my Bachelor of Arts in English from Morehead State University and I'm not a graduate student there getting my Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree.

I graduated with a BA and then did a year in the credential program at San Diego State to get my teaching credentials.
Sometimes wish I had done a Masters... I figured I could always get it later, but now I can see that it is going to be a lot harder for me to find the time to do it. I don't think you really need a Masters - it is just a personal choice.
My favorite age to teach is third grade - I love them!

I went to a Southern college in South Carolina for my B.A. and UNLV for my Masters. I think it's better to get hired with your B.A. with some credits towards your Masters because you gain a lot of practical experience and many districts would rather hire you at that level (it's cheaper). But, your pay increases once your earn that Masters. I have taught high school (grades 9-12) for over 10 years and I enjoy the kids because they are able to hold conversations and apply concepts to real life. But, some people like the little kids because they are fun and cute. You have to decide what level fit your personality. Patience is a requirement no matte what level you teach!

I have a B.S. in interdisciplinary studies from A&M. I'm certified through the state to teach preK-4th grade. Some districts require that you get your masters after a certain amout of time & will pay for it. The district I teach for requires that you have so many hours of college credit working towards a masters or so many hours of workshops offered through the district. It's not hard to get the hours b/c they offer so many courses.
I love 2nd grade & couldn't imagine teaching anything else! They still love school & they still love you. As always, you have a stinker or 2 but that's normal. Gotta love em' all...even when it's hard!

I got my degree at a state university, both bachelors and masters. In NY, you must have a masters along with certification in order to teach.
I liked my undergraduated classes, but did not like the graduate courses. I felt I got little out of them, I learned more just from experience.
My favorite age group is Juniors, and Seniors at least until March, before 'Senioritis' sets in!
