If you're younger then 24? Why don't you join the ARMY/MARINES etc?

Once I hit age 18 I'm joining. I'm not poor I don't need money. I'm doing it for the experience an to give YOU your freedom. So why don't you join?

There are only 1.2 million active soldiers, and 1.4 million soldiers in the reserves. That's not alot of soldiers to protect a country of well over 300 million people.

Sure you could die, but atleast you're going to die with honor. If you do die. The main reason I'm joining the army/marines is so the government won't reinstate the draft. Every soldier counts.

If another World War happens an we still have the same number of troops as we do now. It's obvious that the draft will be reinstated.

I'm NOT an idiot. I plan to goto college for ten years.

Sandy h, I could barely understand what you said. If i'm correct you're insulting our soldiers?

If there were no soldiers, ever. You wouldn't be alive. Show some respect. During pearl harbour if our SOLDIERS wouldn't of fought back. The Japanese would of destroyed Hawaii and then the rest of the country.

I'm going to be a soldier for the experience. I want to save lives I want to protect this country and other countries.

No brain teen? Last I checked I have an above average IQ. I am going to college as I previously stated I am going for ten years. I doubt you've even went to college for one year.

If that wasn't an insult. This wasn't neither!

all i can say is watch the evening news and take a good long look at honoring this evening fallen hero's you are talking like a no brain teen go get some sense!!!!!!!!!!

i does not hear to all of those democratic morons which try to respond to this question. they seem to forget that the adult men and women who're dropping their lives in this conflict would basically as quickly strive against in those human beings's decrease back yards in the journey that they mandatory to. i imagine it really is amazingly honorable to serve interior the protection force even if you compromise with this conflict or not. i imagine it will be a sensible determination to hitch the Marines. They Marine Corps is bar none the most good branch of the protection force. Marines are operating in the route of the gunshots and explosions at the same time as each and every man or woman is operating away. i imagine as a nurse you'd be choicest interior the Marines because they are those that are interior the middle of each and every significant conflict. The Marines will go in the course of the most injuries and casualties and as a nurse, your preparation would enable the Marines to do their jobs a lot more desirable.

Well, there will be no draft. My uncle is a Colonel in the Army, and he says there is no way there will be a draft. Less soldiers are dying in Iraq, as the insurgents are targeting each other more, instead of the troops. Bush says there never will be a draft, and a draft bill was introduced, but it was voted on, and it was killed, meaning no politicans want a draft. The Democrats have taken over the Congress, and they are all against the draft. They will be in office for a long time.THERE WILL BE NO DRAFT. The Army has reached their recruitment goals, and so have the Marines.

I do respect our brave men and women however this administration is causing death and destruction and not bringing about freedom-And I'm sorry but no one is fighting for our freedom -our freedom was granted many many years ago when we became independent from England-and if you wonder why the military numbers are soo low in people joining -it's because people are becoming smarter and know they are being lied too-this war and this administration is absolutely shameful and disgusting-and no one would like to fight for an untrue lie that has killed hundreds of thousand of innocent people and thousands of our own men and women..

If you want college, the airforce is a better option. I know I was in the army got out then joined the airforce. lifestyle, career, education were alot better. No offense to the other army/marine/navy veterans out there. Just my opinion. All the branches of the armed services are important.

Of course you are not an idiot. I think you sound like you have very sound reasoning. The thing is I have already preformed my TOD. That would be Tour of Duty. Good luck and have as much fun as you possibly can without getting in trouble.

And for the record, I think more young people would be better off pulling a couple of years in the military. As my Daddy used to say, It will put hair on your chest. He also used to say *it took me years to figure this one out* It will put lead in your pencil. Go for IT!!!!!!

I'm 37, but would still sign up, if I were able. Unfortuntely I'm in a wheelchair due to MS, so can't help in a combat capacity. I might look into enlisting for non combat duty.

I did my twenty years, thank you.

Question for you, Oh Immortal One. What do you call someone who dies with honor?

Answer: Dead.

If I thought the war that's currently breaking our standing military had ANY benefit for the U.S. besides pumping federal dollars into the economy...I might support it. It doesn't, though. Tell me how I'm any safer.

Thanks, I'm not old enough, but I'm willing to man my weapons if any enemies are threatening my nation.

About your question, YOU ARE REALLY AWESOME! But you want to die, sad
