Except for plants, algae, and certain fungi, and some invertebrates, all other creatures are heterotrophs. The meaning of this word is quite literally "eats other things" meaning simply that it does not produce its own food, most turtles are insectivores, and herbivores in general, but some are also adapted to eating larger things like fish, and frogs.

Hope this helps!

It's a heterotroph, as it eats to survive, and does not produce its own food.
