my internet has been cutitng out every 20 minutes and ive been having to reset it every 20 min i called shaw and they dont know why my modem says that im online even when its not working i ran adaware avg and spybot they all came out clean i dont know whats going on i didnt install anything new can you help me out

it is shaw cable internet umm the modem box thing says its a surfboard modem

i pinged it and it says no network response at google.com i called the cable company they said i am connected this started yesterday iand i dont understand why

If you can visit other websites, google is having problems, if you cant go anywhere, I would suspect a bad cable from your PC to the modem!

If you have cable internet, sounds like a connection issue. If nothing has changed, it could be the modem is bad, I would suggest having the cable company come out and do an inspection, and replace the modem.
Something you can try is go to start run, type in command, and at the dos prompt type in
tracert www.yahoo.com
then try a ping yahoo.com
if you get nothing with those.. then you do not have a connection at all, if after rebooting your pc you get back online, then something like a firewall could be shutting your connection down.
UPDATE:
If you can not ping, check your firewall software, have you tried to restart the modem? leave it off for at least 1 minute. do you have another computer to try to connect to the internet?

shut everything off including modem unplug it wait five and set everything back on. if you still have problems schedule a service call then if the problem still occurs you will more than likely need to wipe your hardrive.
