I am wandering what year gm changed head design on their small block engines...

1992 they changed to the LS-1 engine and it replaced the old small block and it has differen't heads and then again in 1997 GM came out with the current small block the LS-2.

1987 was the first year of the center-bolt valve cover style heads also known as Vortech heads
