It would never see the light of day.
A lot of people would loose their jobs.
The railroads, trucking, airlines, package delivery services, automobile makers, etc would lobby so hard against this technology, the average citizen might not know it even existed....

Uncle Remus is right. BTW-did you know cancer of all types was safely, cheaply, and effectively cured over one hundred years ago? You won't hear much about that either, or if you do the treatments will be illegal or you'll be told that they will kill you. Money talks. Lol! They'd probably tell you the transporters cause cancer and ban them if the public did become aware of the technology. Or the government and military would retain all rights to it.

it would benefit it a great deal.no more cars, buses, planes or trains .but the down fall of that is obesity will increase because no one will want to walk anywhere
