Broadway Joe should not even be in the Hall of Fame. He had one good game. If you look at his stats, he only had a 50 percent completion record, he had 173 TD's but 220 Interceptions. When you compare his numbers to Joe Montana, Montana had a 63 percent completion record, 273 TD's and only 139 interceptions. Dan Marino had 420 TD's and Elway 300. Joe Namath is not even in their league. I don't even know if there is any other quarterback with less than 200 TD's beside Namath that made the Hall of Fame. Like I said he doesn't belong in the Hall of Fame. And I agree he isn't even in the top 100.

Nothing helps a quarterback better than a good running back, good line and good catchers. Another big factor is good field position. I'm thinking somebody like Mark Brunell, a guy that has basically been forced do be the whole offense (quarterback, running back) while racking up huge gains when everyone is in their groove. There have been a few like that, but since they don't bring out big stats, you basically have to watch the games to see these types of quarterbacks.

terrific Ever. Joe took Elway to the woodshed on that fifty 5-10 pounding in the Superbowl. That speaks for itself. It remains the main lopsided interest in super Bowl historic previous to this point. The 49ers' fifty 5 factors have been the main ever scored via one group, and their 40 5-element margin of victory became the biggest ever. The 49ers are the only group in a brilliant Bowl to attain a minimum of two touchdowns in each and each quarter. Their 2nd of 8 touchdowns ended with a neglected greater element even nonetheless. they're additionally the only group to attain 8 touchdowns in a brilliant Bowl all of which became carried out with Joe Montana on the wheel.

No - but he was really good. I think Johnny Unitas, Joe Montana, Terry Bradshaw, Otto Grahm, and a few others fall into that category - but admittedly Joe Namath was one of the best who ever played.
Good Luck!!!

This is the first "best quarterback" discussion I've ever heard or read in which Namath was even mentioned. That should answer your question.

NO he was good qb on a great team in 68. However, his numerous knee injuries prevented him from meeting his potential.
In my mind Johnny Unitas was the best ever.
