I have serious doubts. Why would we have gone to the moon in 1969? I don't know of any commercial benefits, and I can't imagine they would just do it for the heck of it or to prove a point to the world about our defense capabilities. A staged mission to the moon would fit the bill better and would be cheaper. It's a sideways way to show off our defense capabilities without destroying our defense budget during the cold war.

How many times do we have to explain this to people, YES we landed on the moon several times and plain to in the near future, NASA is planing to build a habitat on the surface of the moon in it's southern region close to the south pole (there is sun light there almost 23 hours out of the day solar powered panels),And if you are not convinced then I suggest you go out to Arizona, there is a telescope and laser out there that shoots the moon every week to determine the moons stiller drift rate, see a green laser is shot from here on earth to the moon where it hits a mirror that Apollo 9 or 11 placed there, the laser then reflects back and tells us all we need to know about are moons stiller drift. Please do your home work and read up on facts not speculation before you ask a question, Thanks, and I hope this helps.

Yes, most people believe it. Because it is true. It seems like no big deal now, but believe me, the whole space program was front page news from 1962 to 1972. Nothing like it is today. It would have taken less effort to fake the super bowl game than the Moon landings, given the INTENSE public interest and media coverage. You who did not live through it have no idea how big a deal it was. It makes the Iraq war and global warming look like back page, ho hum stories.

I remember watching Fox's "Conspiracy Theory: Did we land on the moon?" a few years back. Powerful program, but the facts were flawed.

Yep. 6 different times. Left stuff behind, collected samples and returned 'em to Earth.
Even the Russians, our closest competitors at the time, admit that we landed on the Moon. Why can't you?

most everyone believes it unless they believe in all those conspiracy theories.
If we didn't really land on the moon and they just want us to think that, then why don't they want us to 'just think' that we have landed on other planets also?

Well - since faking it would have cost so much more... I go with Occam's razor on this one...
We landed on the moon - several times.

What's really a shame is whether we did or not we still don't have world peace since then.Imagine what we could accomplish as a world of peaceful productive communists? (kidding sorta) Because we are a world of greed and self righteousness. Until we can see past our self destructive monetary ways we are a doomed race with a price tag on it. Arrogance is cheap.
