Allotropy is the tendancy of element to exist in more than one form.The elements like sulphur,carbon show allotropy.Carbon has three alltropic forms as amorphous carbon,diamond & graphite.

Allotropy is different forms of the same element. For example, oxygen exists as O2 of the air and O3 ozone of the upper atmosphere (makes the sky blue).

Sulfur exists in monoclinic and rhombic crystalline forms, as well as the amorphous form.

Carbon exists as diamond, graphite, and charcoal.
