If you're not too big on the video's then the smaller ipods are fine because if you go to around 30G you'll have so many songs that you won't even know what to do with them.

35 CDs... And I'm gonna estimate 20 songs per CD (though that's probably a gross exaggeration)... So that's about 700 songs...
You'd probably do fine with an 8GB nano- it holds about 2,000 songs, so it'd leave you with room for expansion- but I suggest the 30GB anyway, because it's only $50 extra, but you get 22 more GBs AND video. Plus, nanos are small and scary.

Um get a 4 gigabyte. it holds a 1000 songs.
The type of iPod depends on if u want videos or not.
Ipod Video- 30 gigabyte and has videos, games, EVERYTHING!
Nano- A small fragile Ipod that goes up to 8 gigabytes and only has songs and games.
U have to get iTunes in order to have songs. Download it off your computer(apple.com) and plug your iPod into your computer with the USB port. The iPod screen should say "Do not disconnect" If you want a specific song and iTunes doesnt have it u can go to iTunes store and buy your song. 99 cents per song.

1. if you are just looking into listening to music and not watching videos i highly suggest an iPod Nano over an iPod Video.
2. i do not suggest an iPod Shuffle if you don not want to select your music
3. i do not suggest an iPod Nano 2GB because i am assuming that your CD selection will grow and also on the fact that if each of your 35 CDs had 16 songs it'd be more then the 2GB limit.
4. i suggest either the iPod Nano 4GB or the iPod Nano 8GB
a. iPod Nano 4GB holds 1,000 songs. this will allow your CD selection to grow about 30 or so CDs based on the 16 songs per CD.
b. iPod Nano 8GB holds 2,000 songs. this will most definitely allow your CD selection to grow and also leave you with a numberous amount for expansion.
if you want a color option for your iPod Nano:
1. iPod Nano 8GB only comes in black & red
2. iPod Nano 2GB only comes in silver
3. iPod Nano 4GB comes in silver, green, blue, & pink
i suggest the iPod Nano 4GB. allows for room for your CD selection to grow. also allows you with a choice of color.

Well, lets start with capacity: with 35 CDs 1GB is too small, but 2GB is a little more than you need, but will offer room for expansion in the future.
Next there's brand: if you use "iPod" loosely and simply mean portable media player then I suggest Samsung, they have excellent sound quality and are priced less than iPods for similar or superior features. If you mean the Apple iPod than your choices are limited.
Depending on your budget I would suggest the Samsung YP-U2 (US$80.00) (but maxes out at 1GB of storage) or the Samsung YP-T9 (US$130.00) (also plays video)
