Unfortunately no. Don't think I hate Batista, he is a great wrestler and a capable champion. But as far as the Rock goes, he is not even close. You see the Rock was like an all star in Wrestling. He was like the perfect wrestler: good in ring skills, awesome mic skills, overall charisma and a connection with the fans. I think Batista is getting there but not quite. His mic skill are okay, nothing special or extraordinary that stands out. He is good in the ring but I think that's only cause of his size. He is not good at working long matches. The Rock had all these things and more and that's why he is known as 'The Rock'.

The closest thing Batista is close to comparing to is mostly Sid Justice and maybe a little of Goldberg, but Goldberg was more athletic and quicker, Batista is basically just power. He is also very similar to the Ultimate Warrior, by which I mean that he can only really do power moves and sticks to them on a regular basis and he knows how to pump up a crowd by reeving himself up (like the dance he does every time upon making an entrance, he is also like the Ultimate Warrior because, like the Ultimate Warrior did, he already thinks he is the main guy backstage and that is causing some friction with other wrestlers. Batista is indeed popular and a good heavyweight wrestler, but he aint the new rock and nobody will every be the rock.
