16x^4 = 81y^4 so (x^4)/(y^4) = 81/16.
But (x^4)/(y^4) = (x/y)^4.
Also, 3^4 = 81 and 2^4 = 16, so 81/16 = (3^4)/(2^4) = (3/2)^4.
Thus, (x/y)^4 = (3/2)^4. Take the 4th root of both sides and you get x/y = 3/2 or x/y = -(3/2)

Taking the square root of both sides and ignoring negative roots we get 4x^2 = 9y^2. Taking the square root again we get 3y = 2x. so depending on whether you're solving for x or y we get y = 2x/3 or x = 3y/2.

Note: if we're also including negative roots then other possible answers would be y = -2x/3 and x = -3y/2.

well i think that u can delete the ^4 on each side so it becomes. 16x=81y
then simplify it to the simplest form.
...i hope that helps... its just i dont have a calculator so i cant do it for u. sry.
