Notice the people lol'ing at this question? Ugly people cannot control the way they were made, so why is it considered "humorous" to ridicule people who look different, as long as that difference isn't something like skin color?

Mark O: I have lived in America my entire life and have witnessed people being singled out, put down, ridiculed and laughed at because of a facial feature that he/she could not control. Look OUTSIDE the home and see for yourself.

What the hell are you talking about, Greanwitch? It's OTHER people (the people that I am criticizing) that are shallow for putting someone down based on how he/she looks.

Your whole train of thought indicates a high degree of shallowness. I know you could care less how others feel but here's something for your selfish self. You will never live a satisfying life at your level of shallowness. Now here's a little humor for me. That's all I'm going to tell you! Find out the rest on your own...oh you WILL go through a lot of pain before you find out! now, how's that for a lol!

It is not acceptable to me. Some people do that because they don't feel attractive themselves so they try to direct the attention towards other people. Real beauty will always come from a person's soul.

It is not acceptable to laugh at others--we all have faults. Also, skin color should not matter--noone should be ridiculed for who they are. The media is terrible for depicting how we should look and act.

why is the media getting blamed for this? Media may put a certain image out for people to see, but ultimately it's up to you whether you believe it or not. People need to start thinking for themselves, and stop blaming

it is not acceptable but some people do it to make themselves feel better.my sis in law said once that she goes to superwalmart to look at the ugly people to make herself feel beeter, needless to say i was aphauled at her for doing this.beauty is only skin deep.what makes you beautiful is what kind of person you are ofcourse if you are not a good person well that is truly ugly.deformities or features that may not seem appealing on a person does not make that person who he or she is.like i said beauty is within you.

I don't know about how you were raised, but in my house making fun of anybody in a cruel manner is unacceptable. What culture are you from that making fun of ugly people is acceptable?
