I am 38 weeks preg, and when I went to the doctor I peed in the cup, and I saw this white stuff floating in the cup, when I brought it into the nurses station it already settled to the bottom, the nurse said it was fine and it was just mucus. Why do I have mucus in my urine???

Because you are almost done. I had the same thing and I totally freaked out. But my daughter turned out fine. It isn't really in your urine. It is coming out anytime you give it an opportunity which sitting down peeing is. Then it actually comes out of your vagina into the cup. Good luck and Congrats

This is not the same mucus as what comes out of your nose. It is mucus from the vagina, a normal thing in all women.

I know that when you are pregnate you have a thing called a mucus plug that you loose befor you give birth...maybe it has to do with that.
I think thats why they put those little cleaning wipes in there to use before you pee in the cup.. :)

It is part of the mucus plug covering your uterus. You will lose the mucus plug when you're ready to deliver!

It is part of the body getting ready for birthing, the doctor should have been notified about it . It is an indicator of the imminent birth. Honey you are getting close to being a Mom; CONGRATULATIONS!!!

because your baby is dancing on your bladder. this causes lining to shed, creating mucus. as long as it's not tinted red or dark orange, you're ok.
