The straightest answer i can think of is NO! That might sound a bit blunt to you but to tell you the truth you cannot go against human nature which in your case is that its simply impossible to be totally sincere with anyone,be it your best friend or even your own sister, after whats happened has happened. So if you want to be true to yourself simply talk to your friend and tell her its not possible for you to carry on as if nothings happened so she should understand if she notices you a bit drawn.
If you do this in a nice calm n decent way things will work out for the best and you will feel better about the whole situation, trust me!

Soooooooooooooo--what are you trying to say here. There is no reason why you cannot still be friends. She just needs to have a good understanding the TWO of you (U and X) might be a bit uncomfortable around each other.

friendship is stronger an if you’ve been friends this long don’t let nothing get in the way not a boy not a girl they will always come and go but a friend is for ever

what did this X do to you? Some people just don't work in relationships. You know your friend and your ex, is it possible that they would be good together? I wouldn't write off a long friendship simply because your x is involved.

Well you obviously something happened to make you guys breakup. Why get mad at your friend when your X is single and whats the problem with just going for it?

Your "friend" and your ex are psycho. They probably deserve each other. You can do better. Your "friend" is not really your friend, and you should have nothing to do with your ex anyways. Move on, and find better friends.

wow. if you still have feelings for them then you should probably tell your friend, even if they get mad at you they shouldn't do that to you.
if you hate your ex and your friend knows it confront her and ask her why she did that. if you don't love/hate them anymore, let it drop and you might be able to become friends. another friends in your life should make you happy.
