If i try to type in an address into the address bar and then hit enter nothing happens...when it normally should begin to load up the page that the address/url belongs to.
What can I do about this???

Internet Explorer is crap. My advice is to go to Firefox.com and download Mozilla Firefox. It is a much, much better and stable browser.

I quit using Internet Explorer back around the time that Hillary Clinton was President. You need a modern browser. Go to Mozilla.org and get Firefox.

There have been just too many problems with internet explorer. Forgive me for just flat out advertising but honestly,

My laptop had different problems with Internet Explorer. It kept annoying me, so I finally downloaded Mozilla Firefox.
It is great and I highly recommend it!
10 times better than internet explorer!

chances are there is a conflict with other software, or malware on your pc. but try clean disk first, run defrag. after if no soap get some online scans
