When someone asks a question disagreeing with the U.S, The Government, or Someone's religion they get lots of thumbs down? Maybe it's a sincere question they would like to know. They're only stating their opinion. Just because they don't agree with you.....does that make the question bad?

Some people get defensive when others don't approve of their views, and on this place, they can't outright post an insulting comeback, so they are forced to give you a thumbs down. The questions aren't bad....no question is a stupid one if knowledge can be gained by the answer. And the answers aren't dumb either. It's just people with low self esteem trying to lash out at the rest of us.

I don't think it's bad at all. The only way to learn things is to question them. We have much of the freedom we have today because there were a select number of people who dared to question what was "forbidden" to be questioned. Look at Galileo, or any scientist from back in the day. People tend to villainize what they don't know. Like if you aren't for Bush or for the War on Terror you are thusly an un-american communist bastard. Personally I think it's good to question things. How else do you keep those who will exploit the innocent in check? So for you, I would give your question a thumbs up.

I agree, the only thing I do agree with is that people use hate in their comments and then thats bad because they are not just stating their opinion, they are stating their opinion in order to hurt someone. thats when they deserve the thumbs down.

Some people do thumbs-down people just because they disagree with them, but a lot of us give the thumbs-down when a question, or answer, is written in an offensive way.
I've seen a lot of US Bashing tonight, its just one of those things, I don't take it to seriously. Shame though really.

This is a generalization of most people. Not all people give a thumbs down to asking questions about there beliefs.

It's a matter of intelligence... some people associate disagreeing with disliking. They haven't learned the ability to cheerfully disagree. There are a lot of questions out there that I just don't agree with but they were great questions.

Some people just believe that we should never question the government. Anything the government does is great. If you don't agree with the government, then you are anti-american (possibly even a terroist)

Politics and religion are the two most controversial subjects. People have very strong feelings about both. And they have a right to say a question is bad. It is their belief. So, don't worry, don't take it personally.

it doesnt make the question bad but people think that if they dont agree with it then they dont like the question. i dont give many thumbs downs, mostly thumbs ups, but if a question really offends me i sometimes give a thumbs down-like if its racist or something.
