I think it is a combination of too much tv and not enough parenting. I grew up in the 80's and I watched violent stuff. I also had a mother who was very involved with my upbringing, as well as an older brother, grandparents, an aunt and several uncles.

In fact, mostly, I think the breakdown of the family is the number one reason why kids just don't give a rip anymore.

No, thier lawlessness and disregard for absolutely everything is the result of a lack of discipline in the home.

Not only do they see violence, they see disrespect of individuals, instant gratification is necessary, and sex is a every day occurrence any time any where. If you see something enough times you start to believe it. How many women think that Elvis still lives!! How many parents take time to share their values with their children. A country that started out "in God we trust" we have left God out of our lives and that of our children. We are becoming a godless country, a lawless country. We need to turn back to God.

absolutely i limit my childs tv watching she isnt allowed to watch anything but a couple shows on tv and only the movies i deem age appropiate and non violent

also children thatwatch too much tv have shorter attention spans and dont do as well in school also they are more apt to have add/adhd--a part of their personality is sculpted by what they see and if most of what they see is tv and tv is violent---guess what---that child will follow that path

absolutely yes they see hundreds of murders ,excessive violence ,lies ,attitude problems, disrespect, and violence as the solution to problems as oppossed to working them out in a calm peacefull mannerand tv also teaches biggotry and other undesireable characteristics and when they like to blow up things and see extreme gore and blood and guts and slashers and mutilation as fun and entertaining it jades the conscuience and degrades all people and we will have aviolent egocentric generation like we have now and worse to come Gorbalizer
