The systems security is already on medium and doesn't go lower, reset it and tried again, but that didn't help

Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Macromedia's Flash Player. Get the latest flash player.

To enable JavaScript in IE:

Go to Tools > Internet Options
Go to the Security tab
Click the "Custom Levels..." button near the bottom
Scroll down almost to the bottom of the list, where it says "Scripting". Underneath that it says "Active Scripting" and has choices for Enable, Disable, and Prompt. Choose "Enable" and click OK, then click OK.

To ensure you have the most recent version of the Flash player (sometimes it can get messed up):

Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add Remove Programs
Look for any of these and remove them:

Macromedia Flash Player n (where n is a number)
Macromedia Flash Player n Plugin (where n is a number)
Adobe Flash Player
Adobe Flash Player n (where n is a number)
Adobe Flash Player n Plugin (where n is a number)
Adobe Flash Player n ActiveX (where n is a number)
Adobe Flash Player n ActiveX Plugin (where n is a number)

Once they are all removed, restart your computer and go to http://www.adobe.com/flashplayer and follow the instructions.

I had this same error.
I went to Add/remove programs and delete Flash Player 9 Active X and all of my java programs.
I then went to Adobe.com and downloaded flash player.
I then went to java.com and downloaded the java offline installation (click on java software download at the top right of the screen, click manual download, click the second one down).

It's probably Flash Player so here ya go!
Uninstall flash Player:
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_14157
Select from Windows or Mac or other.
Then install Flash Player Back at:
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash&promoid=BIOW
That will work for sure

it should also say "or you let microsoft install an update that makes IE unable to view most flash files!

get firefox, http://getfirefox.com , it works there!

UPDATE, make sure you are using firefox when you try to view the vid. just installing it does not help. There is no patch to make IE do the vids again... only re-installing your system or backing out the update.

Go to Internet Options. Select the Security tab. Set the security level to defaul (or Medium to Medium-High). Click apply. Click ok. Close the browser and go back to youtube.com (this last step is optional but may help).
