What should a minor do to prepare for their first job?

What kind of papers do they need, how can they get these, what is to be expected?

(preferably for New York State)

need working papers (get them from school) if 14 to 15, if 16 all you need is a social security card,and a bank to deposit your check into,

take your id or dl, birth certificate and ss # to place of employment. in Oklahoma you can start work at 14 yrs old just part time, limited hours, etc
