That is a metaphysical question, and you should search more at www.rosicrucian.com
The answer is not that easy. In some cases the coincidence is your destiny and it just happens to complete the mission of destiny. Coincidence is there to aide emergency situations in life in line for your destiny. This is some of the beliefs in science. Or it could be a coincidence is there to prohibit the destiny. There are too many philosophies on the subject whether it be of physical nature or mental (spiritual) to answer in this case. So look further for more.

These can be two different point of view to the same facts.

Example:

You car breaks down on a long trip trough a desert. You didn't check your car before you left your home. One tire ruptured because it had too low a pressure. Eventually, after some time in the desert sun a car shows up and offers you a ride to the next gas station, which is over 30 miles away. During the ride, you fall in love with the driver and sometim later marry him/her.

One could argue, that it was a coincidence that these events (you taking a trip, not checking car, the person showing up being an eligible mate ...) took place. Others would say, that some power (be it god or green martians or whatever) had all this planned. In this case you call it destiny.

Destiny is something that we are here for while coincidence is something that takes place randomly that doesn't have the same significance as the destiny.

if you run over a perdition and go to the jain it may be his destiny, but a bird droppings fall on your new suit as you step out the house it may be just an coincident.

Destiny refers to a predetermined course of events. It may be conceived as a predetermined future, whether in general or of an individual. It is a concept based on the belief that there is a fixed natural order to the universe.

Coincidence is the noteworthy alignment of two or more events or circumstances without obvious causal connection. A coincidence does not prove a relationship, but related events may be expected to have a higher index of coincidence. From a statistical perspective, coincidences are inevitable and often less remarkable than they may appear intuitively.

Destiny is the belief that there exists a pre-determined path in your life. Coincidence means that though things appear to have a connection, they really happen more randomly, like without direction or a prescribed path.

Destiny is where you're going and coincidences are what may occur along the way.

Example: Driving route 66 to the west coast. Your destiny is to drive the highway until you've reached the west coast. Coincidences are the people you meet that you already know. You'll meet a lot more that you don't.

Your Karma, actions in thought word and deed are what creates your life circumstances, and your destiny. Coincidence infers that your life circumstances and destiny occur by chance or by luck. There is no such thing as "Luck." Out of unconditional love desire, actions, in thought, word and deed, resulting in events altering you circumstances then your destiny All connected by the chain links of synchronization. Read "As a man thinketh" by James Allen.

A coincidence is random and meaningless while destiny is meant to happen for a reason.
