And it has always been there. I'm not talking about a zit or like I bonked my head on something, it seems to be a part of my skull. It is above my right eyebrow, almost by the hairline. It is only really noticeable when the light hits it the right way, it's about the size of a dime, and it's hard like bone to the touch. It never hurts or anything, I just wonder why it's there...

Interesting, I have a strange discoloration on the side of my forehead....

Anyway - my guess is that you took some kind of blow or other stressor there when you were extremely young (like maybe baby sized). Like maybe you wacked your head into your crib or something.

That caused the still growing bone in your head to thicken at that spot... not uncommon, and not particularly weird or unusual...

Stressors on any part of the body at any time cause the body to adjust... particularly our bones... and in kids especially - the skull is very adaptive (you can make a baby into a cone head for instance - some ancient cultures used to do it for 'beauty'...).

So anyway - sounds like you got a bump as a baby - and you've got an area of thickened skull as a result.

I knew someone that had cracked their head when they was young and had a piece of bone under the skin that just floated around. I think she eventually had it removed because it gradually descended towrds her eye.

I've seen other people with that kind of thing and wondered what it was. Are you talking about a lump like Ryan Phillippe has?
