I tried to quit, but he said he needed me to just work friday's since I like him and his family I thought I would try to help out. Now he calls me in all the time I'm getting tired of coming up with excuses when I just wanted to quit in the first place. Any help ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Better option does not exist than the sincerity. It express what you feel; when you are tired, when you have commitments, etc. It remembers that both are human, and in this case he must understand your situation.

Honesty. Simply tell him that you no longer want to work there and give a 2 week notice. This will give him time to find a replacement and also preserve the family/friendship ties. Trying to come up with excuses will eventually get you caught in a sticky situation. Just be honest and direct and he should respect you for it.

Yeah, my brother has a similar problem. Even though your boss really likes your help, you need to get it straight with him. You do not want to work for him anymore and so you will not. Just don't pick up your phone when he calls, if you don't have caller i.d, then screen your calls (wait for your answering machine and if it's him, then don't call back). Just don't show up for work anymore, and after a while, he'll get it.

Hand in a letter of resignation. That is the best way to quit. He will get the message. You can find lots of examples online. Just do a search for "sample resignation letter". Customize it, leave it on his desk. And then, you are off the hook.

all you need to do is just quit and don't fall for any of his excuses just say what your feeling to him if your feeling to quit just say it to his face walk away and don't look back, block out some hours,or just block his call out on your phone.

Tell him you found another job. I know you hate to lie, but that should do it.
