How is that any of your business? I think the 15 yo is old enough to babysit.

You're either part of the problem or part of the solution...why don't you go and talk to her and find out why she's leaving the children alone...maybe she has to work and if she's single then maybe she has to work two jobs and so isn't home much...the 15 yr old is old enough to babysit her younger siblings...if you call DHS/Social Services/the Police then you may open a can of worms you don't want to...maybe she's just a mom trying and if you call those people you could really screw things up...sometimes desperate time call for desperate measures...I started babysitting when I was 13; I would babysit overnight for 4 children every Friday night throughout my sophomore year...you don't know what's going on, so find out before you make any rash decisions

You only jump in there if the kids are left alone overnight and no food is left there, or no phone. If the mom has to go shopping or go pick something up or be gone for 2 to 3 hours then there is no wrong here, cause a 15 yr. is able to care for their sibling for that shorter time frame. After all they know them second best. Now if the mom is leaving them over night then ,there should be social workers called. Call the cops if you are wondering how to contact them in your area. But make sure you know the facts are true and straight before you rip a family apart.

Why? Do you think a 15 year old is not old enough to baby sit the 2 year old?
Is there more to this situation that you are not revealing?
Does your neighbor leave for days at a time or just to go out once in a while?
More information would be required to make a valid observation on the situation before making accusations to Civil Authorities.

Although you may think it's wrong, it's not illegal. The 15 year old is old enough to babysit. If it's for days at a time then that is a different story, that's abandonment even for the fifteen year old. But you don't know her situation. She may be working a second job to support those children. Or have to run to the store to buy food for them, and unless you are a single parent, you have no idea what it's like to take children to the grocery store with no other adult to help, especially a two year old.

the kids can be left with the 15 year old this is perfectly legal.but if the 15 year old is not caring properly maybe you could leave an anonymous note for the mother because she may not realize if there is a problem.if the two year old is left alone then call the police but other than that there is nothing you can do.please post what you figure out and if there is more to this story than stated.

At the age of 15 a child is old enough to be left by themselves. As you know 15 year olds are old enough to babysit. If you feel that they are being neglected contact Child Protective Services

DCFS, ask Sheriff's dept. or police. Legally, there may be nothing that can be done. Please let me point out that I'm a firm believer that not everything that is legally within the law is morally right. Check with your state law. If you think about it, 15 year olds can babysit. Unless you mean she is gone for days at a time or the 15 year old is basically raising the younger one(s). How many kids there are might matter, too.

The 15 y/o is old enough to watch they're siblings. If a 10 y/o is old enough to be home alone, a 15 y/o can watch the younger ones.

if there's a 15 yr old at home she can claim that is the babysitter...which quite possibly it is. So you will not have a ground to stand on...in fact if the there's a child of the age of 10 and up "babysitting" the children the courts will not do anything about it.

and quit frankly i wouldn't either. hell i babysat for my next door neighbor at the age of 10...i have helped my friend babysit her younger siblings at the age of 10....there's nothing wrong with it as long as they are responsible.

Sounds you just don't like you neighbor and you're being nosy and little bit on the malicious side. Having someones kids taken away from them is not cool...esp when its not needed.

If the 15 year old is home to care for the younger ones, there is nothing wrong with it. If she's leaving the 2 year old home alone, then you can contact the police or CPS.
