Gee, I don't know. But we have been thinking about winning the World Series for the past 98 years.

the central isn't as strong as it has been the last few years. With Pettitte leaving Houston and most likely Clemens gone too they have a young staff with very little playoff experience. Cardinals will have the same talented team and if Pujols is healthy all year they won't ever have the downward spiral they had after his injury. Cubs very well could be the 2nd best team. They just have a weak pitching staff. Zambrano is a beast, no one is doubting that but Priors health is an issue and if Prior goes down can you really rely on Ted Lilly being your number 2? Their offense is as good as anyones in the NL i believe, Soriano gives them power and speed which is always something to have at the lead off spot, they also have 2 solid 3-4 hitters in a healthy Lee and Aramis Ramirez. Bank on Cardinals leading the NL Central again though.

I think that the Cubs will win the World Series next year, and I am a Yankees fan. You always hope for your team to be the very best, but I think that next year is not the year of the Yankees. I think it is the year of the Cubs. They signed some great players highlighted by Alfonso Soriano and Carlos Lee. They're off to a brand new start with their new manager Lou Piniella, who has lots of past experience. And they already have good players, like Aramis Ramirez and the great pitchers Mark Prior and the legendary beastly Carlos Zambrano. Don't worry about the Cardinals, Cubs fans. Unless they win the NL Wild Card, they can't stand a chance against the Chicago Cubs in 2007. Good luck to the Cubs in winning the World Series!

Te off-season deals have improved the team tremendously, and the Cubbies are now ready to make their run for the pennant and World Series. I am a Red Sox fan,but I think THIS is the year of the Cubs!!

The Cubs have spent all that money and added a ton of players on paper they have made the most changes. This can be a very good year if all the new heads can work together. Lets hope they all work well together.

It is possible that they could win it, but I don't see it happening. I'm hoping the Cardinals can excel again next year, and if they get their starting pitching figured out they should be fine. I'm not worried about the Lovable Losers.

99Th year of pain. I don't know if we can do it this year, but $305,000,000 spent and a healthy Mark Prior sounds good to me. Ted Lilly is underrated great curve ball! I think the key is Derek Lee Just like he was 2 years ago.
Boy am i pumped!

I have two words for ya..."Chicago Cubs"
They are cursed as long as that stadium stands. (Love Wrigley by the way) They could sign Jesus Christ and all his disciples and still finish 16 games out.
