Email the game company, I think it is EA. If you have prof that you in fact are the original owner they just might provide you with the code to use the game. It is the people who pirate games that have problems getting into them and most of the companies know who they are. If you are in fact the true owner the company will more than likely help you out. Your not helping the honest gamers if you try to side step this like some here have suggested.

The Sims is a game by Maxis which is now owned by Electronic Arts. You can contact them for a replacement serial number or authentication key. If it is more than 90 days since you purchased the game, there will be a small fee for this replacement serial number ($10).
If you were already registered as the owner of the game back when you bought it, then this will help your case.
Keep in mind that many people on Yahoo! and other websites claim to have "lost" their serial numbers and want someone to send them a new one they can use.
This is how software piracy flourishes, and anyone who sends you their key should not be surprised if their account is suspended (in games that offer internet play) or if they later get a visit from the copyright police...

As far as I know, there is no way to do this, except for having a computer repair expert rummage manually through your hard drive and extract the program. This would be way more expensive than just buying the game again. Check all over the case and the box that the game came in, it may have the code on it.
Good luck, and happy holidays!

I usually wouldn't suggest it, but since you do own the program, I think bending the realms of legality and using a keygen or getting one would be an okay thing to do.
For future reference, file all of your software boxes. You never know when your computer might crash or something like this is going to happen.

There are undeletion utilities. However, nothing must be done to that drive before they are used. In other words, use them as soon as you notice your files are gone. Now, you would need to run the utility off of another drive if you didn't already have it installed before the delete.

If you actually paid for the program, email the producer of the program and get it from them.

J/K you may try another person's copy for a number that might help to get it installed.

you could hack or get a code generater. Really simple, OR go dumpster diving for your box, because it should be somewhere. (I am not striving for humor).
