I'm dating my best friend that I've been friends with for two years for about two weeks now. We are completely in love and couldn't be happier. She's dated best friends before and they are still ok. I would go for it if I were you. I hope this helped!

It will only mess up the friendship if you both allow it to
she cant be straight if she was feeling you unless she was drunk either way it would be best for her to sort out if she is straight of bi and being her friend is not a good idea to let her find out with you cos she may not like it and then it will put ice between you as she will think your at fault for her doing something she may find no pleasure in
