I've read the book and I've head that it's quite a dissapointment.
Is there anyone who has seen it that can provide a decent argument as to why I should or should not go see it?

its a cool movie, and its cool to get an idea what some events looked like, but they changed some things. for example, most of the book is of eragon and brom traveling, and eragon slowly learns about sword-fighting, but they dont show much. also, while saphira in flying in the air she suddenly grows bigger. wats up wit that? but anyway i thot it was worth it.

btw, murtagh is cuuuuuttteeee!!!! hehe

Most people went in thinking the movie was going to be like the book. Since the book/s are not overwhelmingly popular, the director of the movie did not go buy the book. He made it for the general audience to see. The movie is only 103 minutes long which is not worth the admission price. Stay home. It will be on dvd very soon. It's worth a rental.

Ehhhh... I hate to tell you to wait until it comes out, because it is pretty impressive on the big screen, but as a movie it was just... Well, it just wasn't the book. Everything that occured happened short and quick, but that's because they didn't want to make it a four hour movie, and I can understand. The Razaac didn't look right, they were these weird bug-covered like things. The Urgals didn't look right, they were like dirty cavemen - no big curling horns, I remember Urgals are supposed to have horns. Saphira had feather wings (didn't she have bat wings in the book?) And the thing that irks me the most... When Brom died... Arya was awake. They totally forgot the fact that she's an ELF, and that elves are innately perfect at magic. She could've saved him, the way they had it. But no. Let him die. And another thing! At the end, after this big fight with Durza that didn't happen like that in the book, Saphira is hurt and Eragon says "Take whatever life I can give." A nice sentiment, yes, but are we forgetting that, and I quote, "if a Rider dies, so does his Dragon!"? If she takes his life for herself, and kills him, then even though she's alive, she'll die because he's died, so the whole thing was pointless. Sigh. I guess I say wait until it comes out on television.

Here's my opinion (I haven't seen the movie), reading the book always gives you a clearer view on what the movie consists of. I say go & see it then you can make up your own mind on whether you liked it or not. I prefer to read the books of movies before going to see the movie. Cheers I hope that helped a little

They destroyed the story line. It is not worth going to the theatre to see.
