The truth is that the people loved Saddam! Anytime he walked the streets people would chant "WE LOVE SADDAM!" and his picture and statutes were everywhere!

He killed the those people with the weapons that WE gave him to use against Iran. We knew about what he did, but since we wanted him in power as an ally, we said it was okay. Now, twenty years later, we want to make a big ta-do over it.

When Saddam hangs, there will be thrice as much violence against Americans as there is now. If there was ever a time to come home, it is now!

Tha Baath party has already announced that there will be repercussions for his death, and yes, I do think that he will be a martyr. I think the violence will escalate.

Let's be real here, look at how they are glorifying Gerald Ford, and basically, he served 2 years, and we booted him out because he pardoned Nixon.

Among some people yes. But most (if not all) the Shia's and Kurds in those areas hate him. So in their eyes, they are just praying for the day that Saddam dies and meets his wrath.
