Yeah. I didn't even know it was wrong really, until someone showed me specific laws......they're really complex...i just don't do it anymore. The more people that do it, the sooner the industry collapses

I can't believe all the answers that I see saying it is not wrong or somehow the movie maker's own fault for charging so much. With that logic it should be okay to steal a Lexxus but not a Hyundai.
If you feel something (anything!) is not worth what they are charging, don't buy it! If you took it and did not pay for it, then you stole it. Pure and simple!
One of the reasons the prices are so high is that so many people are robbing THEM. They still have to pay the people that do the work.

I believe it is morally wrong and should be a crime. I love that napster and others now have a reasonable price for downloads as it makes it nice to take only the music and videos I want, and still pay the artists. Intellectual property is the one thing that truly seperates us from the rest of the animal kingdom. we should pay a premium for this great gift. This gift should also benefit those who have it so as to create an atmosphere where great creativity is rewarded. If not, in the end we will be robbing only ourselves.

Yes it is wrong. You haven't paid for the movie. I wouldn't like it if I painted a picture and shared it on the Internet and then people started printing it off and hanging it in the rooms. They could even say it was theirs. But they didn't work or sweat to get the finished product. I did. So did the movie makers and all the cast. They want to be paid for their work just like the rest of us do.

It is and this is why..................
It is not the industry that has been robbing us blind, it is the big corporation that wants to expand its own profit margin. however, to make a movie, thousands of people must be involved and each deserves a cut. The internet has made it all available to us but in the future look for them to tighten the noose and start charging for everything. Why shouldn't you pay for his service(movie-maker),.........it isnt a crime, but its not good business and if that trend continues, there wont be any movies to watch.

Yes, downlowding is a crime.
Not that long ago, with a nickel you could go watch a movie in the movie theater but then we had this inventions that allowed us to record those movies and sell it for our own benefit and then came piracy and illegal downloads.
With downloads, the cast and producers are not getting all of what they make, the criminals do.
Now, to earn all the money back that it costs to MAKE the movie they have to charge people more to go to the movie theater and to buy their movie.
You see, if we didn't have piracy, or illegal downlowding of movies (which most people tend to do), going to the movie theaters would be cheaper AND buying DVDs would cost LESS than $15.00.

I sorta do because there is alot of people that have to get paid to make a movie, but I won't critize anyone else for doing it, I will just remind them when they start to complain about the poor quality of new movies that hey., your the ones who didnt want to pay ... but for now I don't think the production companies are too hurt.

Firstly, you have to consider the copyright act. Copyright law protects anything that is somebody's own creation. It extends to original works of: Music & sound recordings. Literture, including books, magazines, poetry, reports and journals. Drama including films etc. So really it is morally wrong but if you know the does & don't on copyright you decide.

The only thing I find wrong in it is that it takes away from the profit of the movie-makers
