Try using make up remover . Be carfule not to smudge it ! dab some make up remover onto a cotton bud and hold it on the lipstick ...give it time to work 3 secs and then roll the cotton bud around in your hand not over the carpet to lift it off ..good luck !

For any marks or stains I use a blob of washing up liquid on a damp cloth to wipe it off. A relative did this on my sis-in-law's wedding dress when someone got lipstick on it on her wedding day and I have used it ever since. It has always worked for me

Eucalyptus oil, it gets out most oily stains, including lipstick, rub the stain from the outside in, otherwise the stain will spread before it removes it.

Carefully scrape off any excess with a knife, then treat with a carpet shampoo. If any colour remains, use a little methylated spirits on cotton wool.

If it is light colored carpet, use Shout or Spray and Wash. Spray on then rub out. (Even better if you have a carpet cleaning machine)

We used nail polish remover, followed by Oxyclean. It worked after scrubbing for awhile.
