No, I still have very fond memories of my first love. But, time seems to erase the "bad" part of relationships & we tend to only remember the good things. I think that has a lot to do with it. BUT, it does not stop me from keeping him in a special place in my heart-even after 15 years...

I never forgot my first love and my feelings for him also got in the way of haveing other relationships.
Don't worry if it is ment to be you will get him back again as love has no boundries and is not limited to time.
I broke up with my first love 16 years ago and now as fate would have it we are back together and happier than ever before.
Although I have a child to another man. My fiancee has since asked me to marry him as we are both extreamly happy together
I guess what i am trying to say is don't give up on love if it is ment to be you will get back together and it will seem like nothing would have changed.
You will also need to give yourself time though to get over your feelings for your first love although I know from experience that this is hard it is the only way to give other relationships a chance to grow.
Good luck and best wishes to you

I don't think anyone does......But you move on and learn from it. If it's been a year and new relationships still aren't working out for you, you're obviously not over it. You're still rebounding-Which is fine, just be honest with the people you're with and have a good time with no strings attached until you're ready to make a commitment. And by making a commitment, I mean starting fresh and not regurgitating old feelings about your ex with a potential new mate. Good luck.

This is true, you never forget your first love. My first love cheated on me. We broke up. That was over 20 years ago. I still love her, but I wouldn't consider getting back together with her. She's already on her third marriage, and is still not trustworthy. Plus, I'm happily married, and I wouldn't want to hurt my wife just to get back with her. But still, you never forget your first love and the times that you've shared. I choose to leave the past, in the past.

No, I never have, but looking back at her 25 years later I'm glad we're not still together. I still keep in contact with her via email since our 20th class reunion a few years back and we are not the same people. We have nothing romantically in common anymore. People change. It's just a memory that makes me smile now.

You never forget your first. Just like the first time you kissed, or the first time you make love. Don't compare your next to your ex, because your next will never compare to your ex. My first love was when I was twelve years old and from time to time I think about him and I'm 22yo. Memories are memories, it's time to make new ones and experience more 1st.

aaaah...the memories. No, you never forget your first love but your life certainly does not stop after ur first love is gone. You should give other boys a chance and stop comparing them to your 1st love because if you do, you'll never be happy. Good Luck!

I really don't think that you ever forget about your first love but you can get over it. Your first love is something so special that no one can ever take it away from you so you never forget it.

You never do but you need to put it behind you.It is not fair to those other guys.Trust me ,I am 42 and my first love was at 16 and I still think about her from time to time. You will have others, and they will be great, but never like your first, that is just the way it is.Hang in there and move on.
