That is an interesting question... I'm 37 now but, I was that kid that is in every school that just gets picked on constantly. Some of the abuse I endured from the other kids would shock you. I've had a rough life to say the least. I've been a drug addict and in and out of prison. Last year I ran into a girl at a concert(We're Dead Heads) from my childhood. We exchanged phone numbers and stayed in touch for a while. I never said anything about the stuff that happened to me as a child. One night we were talking on the phone and she came right out and said," I really want to apologize to you for what I did to you when we were kids." I was blown away. I never expected it. I had thought about it and sorta wondered if she had thought about it. I replied that I had come to beleive that I brought it on myself and so I deserved it. She almost got mad at me when I said that. She said no one deserves to be abused. That conversation lifted 36 years of self loathing and abuse off my shoulders. No one was laughing at anyone anymore.

I am still friends with half of them. I live in a small town. I'm not laughing...Well sometimes I do. I haven't changed much at all. Just wiser.

Neither. I live a normal life and as far as my old friends, the majority of them have gone on to become professional or have excelled in life in other ways . I am happy for them/

I'd be the one laughing. This girl I hated in highschool lives in an old rusty RV with her boyfriend. And she treated me like I was scum in highschool, atleast I have a house!

Neither. I think the reaction would be surprise, not laughter. My childhood friends would probably be surprised that I made something of myself and I would be surprised and whatever career my friends chose.

At my age we would probably go have a beer and compare notes. Everyone has their ups and downs, it all evens out over the course of a lifetime.
