It depends on what you think emo means. If emo means emotional people, there's really no certain stlye. But if you think of emo as the style emo, I've been lots of black, black eyeliner, and long (usually black) hair.

"Emo" as a musical definition is a subgenre of hardcore/punk rock.
I liked Dashboard Confessional and granny cardigans for a while when I was 16, and was pretty hormonal and pissed off at my parents. But I never took myself seriously enough to actually be emo, and I never got into any subculture groups, so I can't give an accurate description from experience. But I think this sums it up pretty well:
"Emo: Genre of softcore punk music that integrates unenthusiastic melodramatic 17 year olds who dont smile, high pitched overwrought lyrics and inaudible guitar rifts with tight wool sweaters, tighter jeans, itchy scarfs (even in the summer), ripped chucks with favorite bands signature, black square rimmed glasses, and ebony greasy unwashed hair that is required to cover at least 3/5 ths of the face at an angle."

To be honest I'm wondering this too. My sister is a punk/rocker but I call her Emo. Apparently being Emo means being emotional. If you search emo on youtube.com you'll find many different answers, but all lead to sad, weird looking guys and girls who are either sad or unhappy in their lives. Which only worries me because my sister is a punk/rocker and she wants piercings and tattoos everywhere you can imagine....why? I don't know...I thinks she's emo.

Emo is basically replacing goth. It isn't nearly as cool and everyone is extremely androgynous. One time outside of the movie theater my brother and i saw a group of emo kids sitting around. His witty comment was "i get the cute one you get the girl" a statement about the androgyny of it all.

I saw an Emu at the zoo....it looked like a weird bird type thing if that helps.
The Emu (IPA pronunciation: [ËiËmjuË]), Dromaius novaehollandiae, is the largest bird native to Australia and the only extant member of the genus Dromaius. It is also the second-largest bird in the world by height, after its ratite relative, the ostrich. The soft-feathered, brown, flightless birds reach up to 2 m (6 ft 7 in) in height. The Emu is common over most of mainland Australia, although it avoids heavily populated areas, dense forest and arid areas. Emus can travel great distances at a fast, economical trot and, if necessary, can sprint at 50 km/h (31 mph) for some distance at a time.[1] They are opportunistically nomadic and may travel long distances to find food; they feed on a variety of plants and insects.
