Because he is and always will be a GATOR! I think the gamecocks are a ways away from dominating, though.

Because, Steve Spurrier gets results. History shows us that Steve can coach...we need look no further than Duke. He turned them around and gave them winning seasons. When's the last time Duke football had a winning season? Oh yeah...heard of that llittle orange and blue team down in the swamp? He did a little something, something there too..OK, he can't coach a lick of pro ball, but he certainly can coach the hell out of young, aspiring athletes. This also means that he has the power to connect with young people and that is more outstanding than any W!

They should've had a shot this year. All their losses came from top ten ranked teams and most came down to the last play...including then number 2 Auburn and now number 2 Florida. The Gamecocks will have a good run next year. Hopefully Simion Rice stays another season and doesnt depart to the draft this year.

Spurrier is a demanding coach, and thus a winning coach. He's a bit of a brat to me, but a great football coach.
