I was just curios. I sure wouldn't want to.

If you are not sure who Scott and Laci Petterson are.... they were a couple where the husband murdered his pregnant wife and their unborn son. It happened in Modesto, CA.... maybe 5 years ago. And then threw their bodies into the ocean. He is now on death row at San Quintin. Great place for him to be!!!!

But really back to my question... would you be able to live in a house that someone could of been murdered in???

I know that I couldn't!!!!

*** I put in this section b/c I saw someone recently with the name "Scott Petterson" as their nick name... or whatever it is called.

thanks for the answers.

I wouldn't ... Even at a good price it would be hard to live there knowing the history ... even if it wasn't famous because of the murder, isn't Modesto in the central valley area? Location is important, Modesto could be nice, but I prefer the CA coastal areas.

Side note on names: I also know another guy by the name of Scott Peterson ... poor guy, who knows how many times people mention the murder when they hear his name, even though no relation!

I wouldn't go looking to live in a house someone was murdered in, but if I loved the house I don't think it would stop me. I guess you can live in a house someone was murdered in and not even know it, like if it wasn't a famous murder or if they were never caught.

I would, then put a little memorial of her in the back yard and have a little tour guide take people thru the house. In memory of Laci and her un-born baby.

I couldn't. The man that had bought said he has since lost 3 jobs and was trying to resell it again. It is in a nice tree lined shady neighborhood street but even that wouldnt get me to buy it. It's like cursed or something.

Someone could buy it and not even realize it was the same house. They might just think Laci's house was somewhere in that area.

I think the house has been sold several times after the murder, so evidently people agree with you.

No me either... But you really never know what went on in the house you purchase, because I know people that have had very violent things happen to them in their homes, but because they didn't actually die there you will not find out if you buy that home. People suffer from abuse and domestic violence and attempted suicides all the time but you will never know that....

I wouldn't buy it or live in it if it was a gift. It's probably haunted and/or jinxed from the murder. I think it would be better off if it was burned down.

No, that would be way too creepy. I like my lil ol' abandoned house here on elm street just fine. :)

(It was really cheap, although I have some rather unpleasant nightmares)

because it was for sale? why else would you buy a house.

* Also There is NO direct evidence linking Peterson to the actual crime and it seems fishy to me that the mother fought for the insurance money* AND houses can not kill people.
