what bands are emo?....and what is this emo crap about?

Haha, dude, it's like this.
Ten years ago, a band like AFI would have been called Goth. Black hair, black clothes, mascara, songs about death and vampires? That's Goth. But much like rap changes its name to hip-hop and back every six years, marketers like coming up with new names for things.
I remember the original "emo" bands were weepy little mod-looking guys. Now all these obviously goth bands are being called emo. It's sad.

Emo= emotional. Some popular Emo bands are My Chemical Romance, Hawthorne Heights, Saosin, Matchbook Romance.

I think EMO stands for emotional does that mean u have to be depressed or emotional to like that music .No,but I think EMO people r doing their thing and being who they r. So I have nothing against it,

My Chemical Romance, Funeral for a Friend, Dashboard Confessional...that kind of stuff. Emo is short for 'emotional' ie "omg I've been grounded now I'm going to have to kill myself!!!!". Whiny, teen, soft-rock. Avoid it.

emo stands 4 emotional....thats all i know and i am glad i am not!!
and Panic! at the Disco is NOT!!!!! emo!!!!! to the person above me!!!!! maybe in your opinion but they aren't!!!
