If you don't get along with a lot of people maybe you should take an honest look at yourself and see if maybe you are the problem

Make as little contact as possible.
A good motto is if you have nothing nice to say say nothing at all. If you can then don't be around them however i know in some families we are forced to socialize with people that we cant stand but share the same blood line with so just stay to yourself in those cases

Well, I say that you suck it up and go deal with them because no matter what they are your family. I have cousins that I don't think highly of because of what she has done but I can handle being civil with her because that is the way that I was taught. I think that you all just need to let go of the past and learn to get along with each other. We will be starting a new year and it is a good time to have new beginnings with them. Just go wherever it is you have to go with them and learn to be civil and just sit back and ignore them if you have to. Good Luck!

if you don't get along with them, stay away, but if you are having a family get together, just be polite. and everything should be fine. and if they start on you, turn around and walk away. don't let them make a fool out of you and fighting with them. let them do it themselfs. you just smile and walk and keep walking with your head up high.

Why do you care? They are distant relatives at best.. Put on a nice face, and say hello. Nothing more needs to be done.
