i bought a light coloured item of clothing. when i got home and took it out of the bag i saw that some colour had rubbed off from the bag onto my brand new item. the bag is bright red so it is really noticable. i have tried removing the redness from my new item but it is impossible. is the store obligated to give me my money back?

Complain, ask for a refund, anything you can do. Cuz getting something and then having it ruined by the store that you bought it from's bag just ain't right.

If the colour from the bag got on to your bought item then the ' bag' is not suitable for the purpose it was intended, bring it back explain what happened, the store might have to review it's 'carrier's ' I'm not sure you done the right thing by trying to remove the stain , anyway do bring back item of clothing and the bag , and see what happen's .I think the store is responsible , and it will be up to the stores policy as to what they will do . Interesting question. GOOD LUCK.

If the red bag is also the store's, you can go back to the store and explain what happened and exchange your item for another. I am sure the store is obligated to allow you an exchange if not a refund.

Hopefully since christmas is over they wont put it in another RED bag orelse just be careful this time.

Good Luck!!!

Yes. You should not really have tried to remove the mark (they could argue that you made the damage worse) but you will not be the only person to have had this problem, so take it back - with the bag of course.

If the shop refuses, get in touch with their Head Office. They will have printed millions of these bags, this problem is not going to go away for them, so go as high as you can in the organisation and point out that you are doing them a favour.

probably not obliged to give you your money back, as the item itself is not faulty - i.e it is the bag that damaged the item, not a manufacturing fault. However, if it was someone from the shop who put the item in the bag then you cannot be held responsible. Most good shops would replace the item, seeing as it is not your fault, but a fault with their bags. Who knows you may even help them by identifying the fault in their bags. Good luck anyway!

As long as you didn't actually WASH the item, they should refund your money as long as you have the receipt and explain the situation. If you don't have the receipt, expect store credit for the current price of the item.

There is no doubt that I would take the item back and tell them what their bag did. You didn't even get a chance to wear it! If they don't refund your money, write a letter of complaint to management.

You should be entitled to an exchange at least. Why not go in and ask them? As long as you've still got the receipt and the tags are stil intact you shoudln't have any probs.

Good Luck

Why didn't you return it when you first noticed the spot? When you do return it try and stay calm and talk to the sales people in a friendly polite tone.If they don't offer you a refund, then let them know you will be getting in touch with the owners. Don't forget to get in touch with the owners and let them know you are a dissatisfied customer.

Hell yeah, it's their piece of clothing and their bag. Therefore their fault. Take it back. You will definately get a replacement and if a replacement is not available you should get your money back.
