You REALLY shouldn't try to manipulate your cycle like that. It is unhealthy.

DO NOT take the depo shot! It truly messes up your system and after five years of being on it you will need a bone density check as it really screws you up (been there done that).

In order to prevent your period you need to ingest a certain hormone to counteract the menstrual cycle's natural progression. A visit to your family care provider, gynecologist or obstetrician will be the most helpful thing to do. A normal/negative pap smear result is required before birth control can be issued. There are various options for birth control. There are pills, intrauterin devices, insertable rings, injections and more. Personally I have used two forms of 'the pill.' Estrostep FE, designed for younger women, will regulate your periods to a standard 28 day cycle. Seasonale will give you only four periods a year, thus the name. Pills are broken down into 'active pills', those containing hormones, and non-active pills, those which contain no hormones. If you take the active pills continuously they will prevent your period, HOWEVER, you should consult your doctor about this first! I have done this when I have planned big vacations but only with permission. It is important to read the information pamphlet completely the first time you use any medicine. It is also very important to take your pill regularly at the sme time each day and that antibiotics may alter the effectiveness of the pill.

Don't just get on the pill and skip the placebo pills.

Actually got to the OB GYN, tell them your wishes, and see if the doctor will prescribe the correct medication to do what you want.

Your OB GYN may still want you to have a period every so many cycles.

If you have Prescription insurance beware that you may have to pay full price for the prescription. They usually don't cover scripts filled before they should be with birth control. You may have to work really hard with the doctor and the unsurance company. It's not medically necesary to not have your period(in general). EVen if necessary you may still have to pay full price.

He could savour the suspense. ;)

I don't know why you would want to do that. But let's pretend you're going on vacation to a waterpark or something.

If you were on the BC pill you would, instead of taking blanks for a week (your period week), you would continue on to your scheduled pills for the next month.

If you're not on the pill I don't know how you would do that. Generally speaking, though, women menstruate for a reason and it is best not to tamper with mother nature unless you have a medical condition and are under doctor's advice.

you don't want to stop your menstrual cycle...it's natural and necessary. it sux but deal with like a women.

There are several reasons why your cycle would stop though:
1. malnutrition
2. excessive excising (release of testosterone)
3. taking hormones for muscle growth
4. pregnancy
5. some sort of an issue down there (infection, disease, cancer, ect)

Birth contol pills and just take all the colored pills and don't take the sugar pills. You may experience some spotting when you do this, but it's normal though. I am doing that method for four months.

your body is supposed to have a period. Its bad to skip the sugar pill in birth control, it makes it harder to get pregnant when you want to and can also cause other problems.

If you are on the pill, just skip your "off" week and go straight to the next pack. You should really talk to your doctor before you do it, though.
