What the **** are anti-truths? Lies?
How does the discovery of anti-truths prove the story of Adam and Eve?
Haven't you ever heard "The Devil made me do it"? We blame God for not doing his job and keeping us safe. When we do something wrong, the Devil made us do it, but when something wrong has happened to us, it's God's fault for not being there to stop the Devil. Although it's not realized by us that it is not God's job to prevent evil from taking place, but to help us deal with the evil that has taken place.
Steely, Go(o)d and D-evil

I was watching Discovery yesterday on TV. They were talking about the genocide in Rwanda. When they interviewed General Allaire Dallard, he headed the United Nations peacekeeping corp. with all the death that he witnessed, they asked,"Do you still believe in God". He said "Yes, because I have seen the devil". He is a very intelligent man and he saw such horrible things over there and could not convince the world of the terrible situation. He took much of the responsibility but he blamed the devil too.

The d-evil does not exist but is a useful metaphor as an evil temptress. But of course the d-evil is just the free will choice of evil men. I write d-evil this way so it is clear that the devil is merely the manifestation of the evil that men do.

Why don't we blame the devil?
Because he doesn't exist. He's just a symbol of what happens when you revolt against God, or refuse to serve God, which is effectively a way to scare people into serving the church. These are just ideas carried over from a time when the Church used its influence to control the lives of the people that believed its teachings.
Also, it is extremely convenient and irresponsible to blame something else for your shortcomings and misdeeds.

because if we blame the devil, then it proves that people are susceptible to temptation, and that everyone has the capacity to be evil. No one wants to admit this, because it means they'd have to take some responsibility for their actions. (ie- Adam/Eve sinned because they did what the devil suggested, so he brought it on, but they were the ones that willingly ate the fruit).
people don't want to admit that they aren't perfect...

yes, let's all blame the devil for all the evil in the world. then the bloated psychopaths who own the planet and who are determined to exploit everyone and everything, including nature itself, in order to satisfy their insatiable desire for more of everything, at the expense of everyone else, can point in his direction, when "the time comes" for an accounting. sounds like that's part of their plan, eh? they're blameless, the devil made them do it ;-) p.s. for your own growth, try to review some belief systems beyond the fundamentalist. it could prove eye-opening!

If we discover "evil", we simply discover "good" too. This is about understanding ourselves. Many people ignore their evil part, but it is not about ignoring. Person must choose to know his/her evil part and must not act with it. If we behave like it is not there, we cannot develop.
Yes, I think that devil which is a symbol ove evil must be understood. Without understanding evil, understanding good does not seem possible.

Religion has taught people to do so. Think about all of the times we have heard that "God needed another angel" as an explanation as to why someone died. This gives God a bad name and makes it harder for people to want to worship Him. To me, this is just another proof that many of the so-called Christian religions aren't run by God, but by the devil.

I think of the Devil aka Lucifer, Satan, Father-of-Lies as that jealous, possessive nobody special entity like a two-faced homewrecker girl/boy you knew in school who is basically a loner looking for 2 other bestfriends and s/he comes in and tells you what your bestfriend (God) supposingly said about you and whatever reaction you give him will run to your bestfriend (God) and try and tell him/she lies about what you supposingly said about them and unless you and your bestfriend are very solid and strong and like Christ did, refuse to listen to all his/her negativity, BS--little Satan will just go away and find another unsuspecting, emotionally weak 2-some to try and 'break up' . Satan has his dirty hand in gambling, pornography, alcoholism--whatever it may be you know it's him when he tries very hard to make us believe to hell-with-so-so (and usually your loved-one) trying to convince you DOING such-such will make you feel "better."
My wise grandmother told me 'Please be careful, you know it's that piece-of-sh*t again when you try to do/give something great and can't thank God for it.'
ps, presently this war on Iraq for all whos young enough to understand is all the reason to know Satan is very much alive, exists today and ALL the reason Im glad there's a God I believe in MORE over that lieing SOB
