Ofcourse I'll get tons of thumbs down for this, because in this day and age your a jerk if you say anything against women (no matter how true it is), but your a saint if you speak against men, but hear me out:
The same reasons females play so much.
And all the people who responded with answers against men, as if women don't play games, are all sexist. Ah, the new way of life in America, pure sexism against men.
And the person who answered directly above me is a great example of this blind sexism. She fails to realize that women have big ego's as well. Specifically those who think they're better than everyone because they're pretty.

I knew someone 50 years old who like to play flight simulation games. My father every night plays solitair. And i recently have been detoxicated from the W.O.W game.

They are guys. I will also say that guys were naturally born with egos and that they have to have something to do to make them feel competant and in control. Part of that has to do with testosterone.
