On the mission 'Curtains Down'... a couple of minutes into the mission, the game shuts down and goes back to Windows.
It seems to happen when I press an action button, but it seems to happen randomly. It doesn't happen if I press a certain button or a combination of buttons. I don't know what is causing it.
It doesn't do this with the previous missions nor other games, is there a technical glitch with the game or the disc? Should I re-install it or take it back to the store and replace it?
I'd appreciate your help and suggestions!

Sounds like a bug in the game. Taking the game back for a replacement most likely won't help. If you haven't already, download the latest patch for the game. You can get it here. http://www.fileplanet.com/164152/160000/fileinfo/Hitman:-Blood-Money-Patch-v1.2
If that doesn't help then you might try reinstalling the game.

Problems such as this are always hard to troubleshoot.
Try:
1. Make sure you have most current patch of the game. Check Eidos's website.
2. Make sure all device drivers are updated (i.e. video card, sound card, etc.)
3. Fiddle with graphics settings in the game. For example, change everything to the lowest setting and see what happens.
4. Uninstall game, defrag hard drive, reinstall game.
5. Find a friend's computer and install the game on his/her computer and see if it does the same thing. This will show you if it's the game or your computer that's the problem.
6. It is possible you might have a defective disc. Try getting a free replacement if you can.

Check to see if there is a patch for it on the website. It could be a known bug with the game, as I have had similar problems with GTA and other 3D games
