If you want to go and watch the most entertaining and skilful player in England, Europe or even the World, then go to Old Trafford and watch Cristiano Ronaldo tear open the opposition's defence. Having been to the match on boxing day (and a load last season), i am fortunate enough to have seen first hand Ronaldo's skill and so-called "wizardry". They say Rooney is good, but i believe Ronaldo is better. Trust me, he is amazing when you see him live. If he happens to bring a bit of controvesry to the game - diving, cheating whatever, then so what - IMO. He has managed to improve his game enormously since the world cup and the away fans booing just spurs him on.
So, yes he may dive sometimes, cause he loves his team and wants to win . Also cause he's a fiesty Portuguese! BUT his pure skill and entertainment value wholey overshadow that......and he's definately NOT ugly, he is gorgeous!!!(dont worry Im a girl aswell!!) But I would praise Ronaldo no matter what he looked like. PS His name is Cristiano not Christiano...

I am a girl that plays soccer and ALSO likes to see it played fairly. Cristiano Ronaldo, I will admit has times when it is obviously a dive, but half of the time when people think he's intentionally diving he's not. Cristiano although labled a diver, has very impressive footwork and speed, and with those redeeming qualities I think it's easily looked over whether the fact that he's a diver or not.

As with quite a few foreign players coming to play in the premiership, Ronaldo does sometimes seem to lose his balance more often than most. But give the lad his due, he is currently one of the most exciting and in-form players in the top flight division and is certainly Man Utd's key player. Coming from a Liverpool fan those remarks did stick in my throat slightly. As for his ugliness, I couldn't say, there's probably uglier blokes around (see Phil Neville!!). Ronaldo HAS got one of those smug mugs that is just shouting out to be punched though.

Firstly i'm a Liverpool fan and therefore hate all things Man U, so i agree with you totally 100%. As an afterthought why do players like Ronaldo,Drogba,Arsenal FC etc etc spoil themselves by doing these things ?? don't understand it.My first love is F1 and possibly the greatest driver in history with 7 titles is tainted by half a dozen cheating incidents...Why do talented sportsmen do it ???

He is neither ugly or a diver just a very fast player who when caught is knocked off balance and falls which is then perceived as a dive by the untrained eye (do you use the same optician as Arsen Wenger)

I have both hands up.
My enduring image of him is the contorted look of pathetic outrage he managed to summon up that led to Rooney's shove and inevitable sending off in the World Cup.
I could understand if he was a terrible player and had to make up for it with "gamesmanship" but as much as it pains me to say it he is a talented player. My disgust knows no bounds for him.

Well, he's not that ugly comapred to say, peter beardsley, and he's not so much of a diver as Jurgen klinsmann, (or Diddier Drogba) so you can't get at him for it... unless you're just using that as an outlet for your jealousy of his abilities???
