Today is the 2nd day of Christmas, how will you celebrate it?

Most people seem to believe that the Twelve Days of Christmas come BEFORE December 25th. They do not. They are the period of days from Dec. 26-January 6th. They end with the Celebrations of 3 Kings Visit to the Baby Jesus. This marks the end of the Christmas season for many. Some folks mark the end on Feb. 2, which is candlemas--when Jesus was baptized. They have a get together or whatever--mass, etc--of course, some folks just like a reason to eat, drink, and be merry.

I will celebrate it by enjoying this non-paid Christmas vacation from work.

By checking out the sales at my favourite store and then sleeping the rest of the day away! LOL

Three days of eating is enough. Made soup from the turkey carcass and that's it for me...going to crash with a good movie tonight.

In Italy the Befana (good fairy) gives gifts on January 6...not Christmas...many still give gifts on teh 6th although some do at Christmas too. Here we just celebrate the same as everyone else at Christmas but you are right the 12 days come after.

Just spent the day outside -- raking my yard and picking up broken branches ... now I'll be inside for the rest of the afternoon/evening -- sorting through the junk my now independent children left behind (for donations or trash), then building new bookcases for the rooms I am re-purposing.
