What's in the room? If it's friends, I'd rather go in.
If it's a big gang of my enemies, I'd rather leave real fast. Unless I happen to be carrying around some handy weapons of mass destruction, in which case I'd rather go in... shooting.
If it's a pile of unguarded treasure, I'd prefer to go in... unannounced.
If I'm the king, and it's my treasure, I don't mind if the master of ceremonies announces me.
